The circuit boards are shock mounted and sealed inside rugged waterproof Kydex® cases. The speaker/microphones are made of durable polyurethane. Internal rechargeable nicad batteries provide enough power for a ten hour shift.The transceivers are programmable to ensure fast turn around when frequencies must be changed. These portables are equipped with two push-button switches. One is used to turn the tone squelch off for channel monitoring and the other can be used as an alternate push-to-talk switch.
